The trek usually begins from Manali and takes you through beautiful locations such as Jobra, Jwara, Balu Ka Ghera, Hampta Pass, and Shea Goru, before reaching Chandratal Lake. Crossing the Hampta Pass is the highlight of the journey, offering an unforgettable experience of Himalayan adventure.

Itinerary
Day 1: Chika to Balu Ka Ghera

Distance: 5 km | Time: 4–5 hours | Altitude: 10,100 ft → 11,900 ft
Begin your trek from Chika and walk through beautiful green valleys, meadows, and streams. The trail gradually climbs towards Balu Ka Ghera, where you will camp surrounded by stunning mountain views.

 

Day 2: Balu Ka Ghera to Siyagoru via Hampta Pass

Distance: 9 km | Time: 8–9 hours | Altitude: 11,900 ft → 14,100 ft → 12,900 ft
The most adventurous day of the trek. Cross the spectacular Hampta Pass at around 14,100 ft and enjoy breathtaking views of snow-covered peaks and rugged landscapes before descending to Siyagoru.

Day 3: Siyagoru to Chatru

Distance: 7 km | Time: 5–6 hours | Altitude: 12,900 ft → 11,000 ft
Descend through the dramatic landscapes of Lahaul Valley. The scenery changes from green mountains to dry, rocky terrain as you make your way towards Chatru, your next campsite.

Day 4: Chatru to Chandratal & Back

Distance: 70 km | Drive: 3–4 hours | Altitude: 11,000 ft → 14,100 ft
Take a scenic drive to the breathtaking Chandratal Lake, one of Himachal Pradesh’s most beautiful high-altitude lakes. Spend time exploring the lake and enjoying the surrounding mountains before returning to Chatru.

Day 5: Chatru to Manali

Distance: 70 km | Drive: 4–5 hours | Altitude: 11,000 ft → 6,700 ft
After breakfast, begin the scenic drive back to Manali. Enjoy the spectacular views of the valleys and mountains along the way as your memorable Hampta Pass Trek comes to an end.
