The Route & Experience

  • Day 1: Base Village (Pantwari) to Base Camp (~4–5 km)

The trail kicks off with a steady ascent through rocky terrain before transitioning into deep rhododendron and oak forests. You break through the tree line into open campsites overlooking rolling ridges. Nights here treat you to unpolluted starlit skies and clear views of the distant lights of Mussoorie.

  • Day 2: Base Camp to Nag Tibba Summit & Descent (~11 km)

An early morning push brings you past the revered Nag Devta Temple, a sacred stone shrine worshiped by local villagers for the protection of their livestock. Pushing through the final ridge brings you to the summit flag.

The View from the Top

The summit unveils a 100-degree amphitheater of snow-clad giants:

  • Bandarpunch Range (Swargarohini, Black Peak)

  • Gangotri Group of peaks

  • Kedarnath Peak in the distance

  • Doon Valley & Chanabang ridges to the south
